Monsoon Mystique Poem by Rumpa Das

Monsoon Mystique

Not all raindrops come together.
Some remain solitary
And fall and fade alone.
Some unite with others they meet
While some just disappear
In the crevices of earth
To reappear in faraway hearts
Or far-away eyes beyond mirth.

Does it rain the same in your world,
As it does in mine, sunshine?
Do your roads keep wanting to meet
In a deathly embrace with mine, sunshine?
The city of steel feelings and gartered dreams
Doesn't possess a heart that can feel;
Deep down amidst the concrete corpses -
A heart that loved sunshine lies still.
It never rains the same rain again
And sunshines pale in new showers of old rain.
