Moon Tale (Part One) Poem by TANIMONURE ADEWALE

Moon Tale (Part One)

i sit still in my tranquil feel
my destiny in blaze, a wonder in gaze
bathing blessings around, both near and surround
my purest glory telling tongues of story
in my divine reign of joys birthing again

alas! alarm of what fright to fall
what black blanket wide of gall on all
earth is imprisoned; her joy kidnapped strong
doom is dancing, gloom glows a mocking song
oh no! heaven, please where are you now?
are you kidnapped too? why this? how?

the stars were there offering no cheer
they orphaned me; jealous? maybe
for my great glory was their hush hush story
and my divine task seems their death mask
where am i now kept? oh! how earth wept
