Moonlight Spills Poem by Justin Gildow

Moonlight Spills

Moonlight spills over the horizon
Carmilla's been crying silently
Gathering herself and her thoughts in the dark
Composing herself in the corner
And just trying to remember the good times that have passed before they're all gone

Moonlight spills
And far away
I'm having tea and sitting with my friends
While listening to their stories of freedom and independence
How I miss Alice and wish she were here

Moonlight spills upon me
As I sleep and dream peacefully
As I dream of all the things that have kept me happy inside

Moonlight spills
And there are times when I'm awake when I think back to the dreams I've had
The ones that have been with me after so many years

Moonlight spills
And is it in the hands of the moon to heal any of us?
Is it in the prophecy that I carry on the way I am now?

Moonlight spills on me
As I dream away
As I'm lost inside my dreams
