Morning Gift

Poem by Damon Harper

The gift of day took the night away
Gradually and like a unwrapping gift
To reveal the sounds of life once again
To be heard by smiling ears first to wake
Placing the pleasant morning dew blanket
Upon all things silent in the night
Dawn in the peaceful brief moment
Taken by the beauty of the day ahead
