Mortality Poem by Stella Sisanda Qishi

Mortality

this is not the end of life
it is in fact a sequel to the life we led yesterday
it is these heartbreaks that lecture us
how to love, how to live and who to consort
ourselves with
it is the same helplessness we share
the defines our weakness
and the quick learning of letting go
that defines our strength

we can cry ourselves to madness
but the deed would still be done
and there wouldn't be much we can do
to undo it
except accepting the fact that fate
is indeed a done deal
