Mortal's Transience Poem by Sanjib Saha

Mortal's Transience

Mortal's Transience

The mortal poet asked,
'Is the bath complete? '
Time flowed by,
as the bath lingered on.
A river flowed in between,
with waves and endless currents,
flanked by soothing green shadows, a serene refuge.

The poet said, How long will this charade continue?
In the afternoon, he'll pull your picture close,
then leave, abandoning all worldly attachments
in the fields and the earth.
