Mother Poem by Patrick Utitufon

Mother

O Mother! My sweet Mother
How I love you Mother
You are the cradle of my birth
And the pride of my youth
How I long to live
The way you deserve
I`ll never forget the days the oceans were calm
And nature in bloom
We`d walk together to the fields
And over the hills
You told me the ways of the world
And the choice of a child
The fountain of wisdom you showed me
And there made me lie
You told me I could make the fire friendly
If I live in peace with the enemy
You said I should not slack
So as not to lack
And now I know they were true
So I will reward you the way due
