Mother Poem by Ken Barrett

Mother

I know as a child you had a hard life,
Growing up in a house full of abuse and strife.
To start your life anew you moved away from there,
You met our father then had us two.
You said you weren't a good mother,
But I appreciated everything that you did.
You were always there for me,
And I wouldn't want any other.
When we grew order you became a grandmother.
They couldn't ask for any better,
As you loved them with all your heart.
Then when you were in pain you had fallen to sickness,
When it took your life I couldn't stop the rain.
Just know wherever you are,
From my heart you're not far.
