Mother's Day 2020 Poem by Sabrina Stamey

Mother's Day 2020

Mother's Day means nothing to me.

I never get flowers or cards nor a phone call.

My kids don't care about me at all.

I'll sit at home by myself for the day

With no one to love me, I'll look up to the sky and start to pray.

Dear Father, I'm sorry for all the things I have done.

My kids have rejected me and I have no one,

Then I'll remember why you sent your only begotten son.

For sinners like me and my kids.

You forgave me for all that I did.

Your grace pulled me through,

And now, I know what I must do.

I must forgive my kids who have hurt me so.

I must learn how to let it all go.

I'm ready to move on with my life.

Because this world already has too much strife.

I will follow You,

And all that You do.

In Christ, you see,

I am free.

And, Mother's Day still ain't for me.
