Motherless Children Poem by Alexander Foald

Motherless Children

Inside these arms of yours
Feeling warm and safe, I fall asleep
Something holds me up against the current
And I know just who can keep me alive

Lively sun, bright in its center of life
Taking seasons behind its trail as it walks
I’m wondering if time can restore memories
Since I’ve got plenty forgotten in my garage

Could it be you still remember me?
The kindness you taught me, the love you gave me
The shoulder you lent me, the tears you share with me
Sometimes it is hard not to listen to what people warn about
But every time I think about you, I’m relieving myself from all pain
