Moving On... Poem by Bao To.

Moving On...

We used to walk together
For every dropp of rain.
And gently in the sunlight,
We told each other
We’d be together forever.

2 in the morning
And here I am on the street
Just watching drops.

Waiting forever;
And in the end,
You never came.

You’re over there...
But I’m over here...
This feeling of being outside
By myself is sort of depressing...

Tears suddenly began to fall.
Every dropp falls heavier
Than those of the rain.

I try; trying to forget
Every sense of pain you’ve brought.
But each drop,
Reminds me of the sadness...

When you were with him,
I tried; tried to hide
All but the corner of my eye.

But even so,
What I saw was enough.

But it does not matter anymore.
It’s been months since
I’ve last seen you.
What am I hoping for?

I’m sitting here still
Even when I know
You won’t come back.

I’ve wasted so much time
Since then
By just sitting here.
But it is time I move on.

Although there were some fond moments,
I still breathe heavily
For those moments in between...

All promises are nothing now.
I’ve let them go.
They’ve all flown with the wind
Like the annoying dust
That recently had rest where your heart used to be...
Next to mine...
