Mr. Lenny Poem by Julius Eddy

Mr. Lenny

Why Sir, it seems you are most terribly mistaken,
As to how smiles are to be taken.
Why look at this smile,
Look at this grin!
Think! Think!
What does it show?
What does it mean! ?
My smile is nothing but a tool
For you ignorant fools!
A simple smile, a friendly gesture
To make you forget your pressing matters.

Oh how foolish must you be
For you not to see?
What I’m trying to do with all your pennies!
If only you could see…
If only you could see…
This broken old Lenny.
