Mullaperiyar Dam Nightmare Poem by Anees Rahman

Mullaperiyar Dam Nightmare

When the water breaks the wall,
When the dam shall fall,
When on fury, babies cry,
While they drown and die
When wrath rain above their fright,
When for life they fight,
When bodies scatter along,
While they did no wrong,
With silent guilt, we shall morn,
The babies dead-born,
The dear, the near and all dead,
In the flooding red,
As with lies the judges spill,
While signing their kill,
That the dam can't break nor fall,
In a state, not tall,
State on knees, with out power,
Waiting the death- hour.
