My Character Poem by RaShawn Ince

My Character

My character in his days has climbed the mountain tops,
and battled the biggest dragons, survived the hardest drops.
He suffered through it all but never did he give up.
He always gave it all, part way was never enough
He fought through the jungle, it almost tore him apart.
No weapons in his hands just determination and heart.
And hope was in brain, his soul there from the start
and faith was his only friend and it can never be bought.
I remember one night, the moon was in the sky
the stars were twinkling, the clouds started to cry.
my character saw a figure just standing there in the night.
hidden by the darkness, absent from the light.
he tried to cause harm to innocent people there.
my character protected those whose hearts were filled with fear.
My character's a hero criticized by the fact.
That his skin isn't fair, isn't white, it's black
