My Christmas Years 2007 Poem by James Bloom

My Christmas Years 2007

I get up early in the morning to open the gifts,
only to find out that it's just gone 1am.
The sun is out and it's not snowing,
but i know later in the day it will start raining.
I wait for the snowman to come onto the TV,
but somehow I always get distracted and miss it.
We used to like moms turkey, she used to put on.
The one year it was bad she left the grey bags inside.
My dad now does the cooking and enjoy there spirits
I prepare the house as i tidy up all the house,
We would always sit together and enjoy the meal.
We would them prepare for the guest to arrive.
It would be time to for party food and our little treats.
Our guest would always get attacked by the dogs.
Left with splinter knife edge hairs in there arms.
The fire would be on and we are all warm.
Sharing gifts and talking about how our year was.
Watching the evening movie and a movies.
As a few of us drift off to sleep.
Late night the day comes to an end.
Laughs and fun another rememberable year.
Another reason to celebrate Another year
