My Connection With Mother Nature Poem by Nicholas Wayde Turner 24

My Connection With Mother Nature

Mother Nature rushes to meet me as I open the door.
She wraps her arms around me.
And I feel her warm mothering nurture.
It’s almost as if she’s protecting me from the evils of the world.
I feel her warm tender heart beating as I lay in the grass reflecting on my past.
She strokes her fingers through my hair, telling me “Everything’s going to be alright.”
After a few moments, I see one of her children passing by on all fours.
And I see some of his hairs gracefully fluttering in the wind.
Two pieces land directly on my nose.
I can feel the tickling sensation overpowering me.
And then it stops.
Within that split second, I feel something different.
I feel a connection I’ve never felt before.
It’s almost as if our connection with Mother Nature ties us together in a way…
As he gradually gets closer, I start to see something I didn’t see before.
Fear!
I reach my hand out letting him know “Everything’s going to be alright.”
He’s nose almost touches my hand, but then it happened.
A loud bang!
He jerks his head looking in that direction.
And it is in that moment I realize what’s happening.
Why we have such a strong connection.
Mother Nature sent him to me for protection.
Something I was never able to do for my siblings.
My heart skipped a beat, and panic over came me.
All my fears arose to the surface, and then I hear a gentle howl in the distance.
I look to my right and notice a path that leads a village.
A village known as “The Protectors”.
Individuals, each with their own furry friend.
Once we arrived, I was told that we were all brought together by Mother Nature.
Several people hand chosen to protect.
To give her children a fighting chance in life.
And that’s when I knew that I was home!
