My Favorite Time Of Day Poem by JOHNNY COBB

My Favorite Time Of Day

My daughter and I grab her telescope
As we go outside to watch the stars play.
They're best viewed on a cold, clear, cloudless night.
Midnight is my favorite time of day.

We'll start our observations in the East
'til we see the rust colored planet Mars.
Then turn the telescope toward the North as
We try to identify other stars.

Such a treat to see the rings of Saturn
Then we'll look toward the Western horizon.
The Big Dipper has settled into place...
And there's the three star belt of Orion.

Tonight we have viewed Jupiter's four moons.
Now... into the hot-tub with my daughter.
Silent streams of steam rise in the night air
As moonlight reflects on bubbling waters.

We've had our quality entertainment...
Gentle breezes cause the pine trees to sway.
I'll be in the hot-tub tomorrow night...
Midnight is my favorite time of day!
