My Heartstrings Poem by David Oladipupo Olorunshola

My Heartstrings

I am not familiar
With this,
I don’t know how
This works,
How to fall in love,
Then, fall out of love
The same time
And yet, desperately in love
Not wanting to hurt
Either of you
Is like two teams;
With each team on
Either side of the tug rope,
In a tug-of-war
Pulling and pulling
I am sure of my feelings
Now, i know i love you
I am desperately in love
With you.
I guess I have been
Trying to make sence
Of my feelings for you

IF only you realise,
The tugging of my heartstrings
Like a kite with a string
The way your love
Tug at my heart.

I am so much in love,
That other attractions pale
Compared to how much,
I want to be with you
How much i care for you
I do love you,
Truly, I do love you.
I am desperate for your love
