My Mother's Face Poem by Verilyn Titus

My Mother's Face

Each time I visit and see my Mother's face...
It tells the test of time has run its pace...
The lips tell a different story in part...
The fire in her voice is as strong as it was from the start...
And even though she reaches out for me I don't feel sometimes she is truly there...
But she calls my name and says 'I love you' and shows she does care...
Every wrinkle is the worry we put her through...
Her eyes are so that even when you think she's not looking she knows all that you do...
Her nose is to help her remember that new baby smell...
Her ears are to hear every story you have to tell...
O how I miss seeing my mothers face...
For without her at times its hard cause she always knew how to keep me in my place.
