My Old Man Poem by B. V. Dahlen

My Old Man

Rating: 5.0

I glance across the shadowed room,
and in the flickering cathode light
your profile sinks upon your chest.
Who would have thought
those many years ago,
when blood ran strong,
and fevers raged,
That I would find such comfort in
a nodding head and sonorous snore.
