My own self—my true self—
appeared before me:
a reflection long forgotten,
rising like dawn upon still waters.
Whether in the crowd's
restless murmur
or the silent sea of air,
my soul stood still;
and in that stillness,
my true face unveiled—
my essence unmasked.
No word was spoken,
no intent awakened,
yet our eyes met—
like waves meeting the shore,
returning again to nothingness,
bound by a melody unnamed.
What I saw in that gaze
the eyes could never hide.
Fate touched a single string—
the one once played
on the Day of Divine Remembrance.
A moment came—
a moment of the Eternal—
descending upon my being,
upon my unguarded heart,
beyond my will or knowing.
And I wondered—
why does silence thunder so deep?
Then silence itself spoke:
"Am I not your Lord? "
In silence I replied:
"Yes."
And the command came—
to set forth on a journey
into the embrace of the cosmos.
The sea of thought carried me away
through storms of sorrow and wonder.
Amid the noise of life,
my spirit awakened—
listening, seeing, speaking—
as if made holy
by a breath divine.
It recalled to me
that covenant of the First Dawn.
And I, within the current of time,
kept tending its flame.
The journey endures—
the universe flows within me,
and I believe:
the hour shall come
when I shall stand before my Lord,
smiling in quiet completeness.
It is not I—
it is the essence within
asking, and answering, "Yes."
Who is the servant?
Who the Lord?
And what is time?
Truth whispers—
"I am Time;
think no shadow of Me."
