My Passion - Poem by nadia ntanu

a gentle night, warm with soft quality
known only on the caribbean islands
high above the trees the moon flirted with the white billowy clouds, kissing them
until they glowed with its silvery light
but
hiding its face behind their fleeting shoulders, the wild one finds,
in my dreams and in the nightmares of my waking hours,
why do you hunt me so
before sought, in a dungeon you were frivolous, witty, even gay but now wonder witless and dreamy as a moonstruck bachelor
r u there? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
the whisper as a wispy breeze
what speel ahve thee beckon on me
even, your never presence touches me boldly
must my passing hunger say so when my mind tells me nay?
I sought my vivid imagination but nay a free horse it wills.
