My Safe Place - Poem by Debbie Ward Casey

Will I ever have to leave my safe place?
Safe, secure, it's warmth I embrace.

Comforting, the love I feel.....

I never want to leave my safe place.
In my Mother's womb; I find comfort, peace, and solace.

It's all I have ever known.....

I feel a big change I'm soon to face.
I'm so afraid;
I Feel so alone;
Must I leave my safe place?

The change is here and I'm terrified!
What is happening to me?
I'm being squeezed and pulled every which way,
Will this pain ever cease?

My future is upon me; my destiny...
Love, in my parent's eyes looking down at me.
The arms are gentle, but strong, holding me.

Is this my new safe place?
Safe, secure, it's warmth I embrace.

Comforting, the love everywhere...

I never want to leave my safe place.
With my family; I find comfort, peace, solace

It's all I have ever known...

I feel a big change I'm soon to face.
I'm so afraid;
I Feel so alone;
Must I leave my safe place?

My time has come and I'm terrified!
What is happening to me?
I'm being squeezed and pulled every which way,
Will this pain ever cease?

The moment at hand; my destiny...
Love, in Jesus's eyes looking right at me.
HIS arms gentle, but strong, holding me.

Is this my new safe place?
Safe, secure, it's warmth I embrace.

Comforting, HIS love everywhere...

I never want to leave my safe place.
With Jesus; I have comfort, peace, and solace.

It's all I will ever know....
