My Silent Plea Poem by Roldan Escanan Go

My Silent Plea

I want to say I’m sorry for whining when you were still here
For wanting more than I could take, more than you can give
For dreaming someone you can never become
And yearning for someone who can never be mine.

Now all I have left is myself and no one else
An accolade any egoistic heart deserves to get
For trying to outsmart life’s tricks and treats
For selfishly twigging things that are not meant.

If words are not enough to recompense all I have done
take my wits, take it from me if it gives justice for once
So that when all I have is my empty mind
I will just be remembering you beyond my empty thoughts.
