My Smart Book Of Scribbles Poem by Alaa ...

My Smart Book Of Scribbles

i made a book
and i named it
my smart book of scribbles
i made a book
with my own hands
with hard paper and silk

mama asked
what is it for
for writing my spread thoughts
for feeling free
for expressing the love
and the hatred that could be
i can't see well
she said
neither anyone can see
'put on your glasses mama'
laughing...she threw it at me
'go you crazy gal,
what scribbles are you talking about? '
'i spoiled your walls' i said
though scribbles are to be
written anywhere people can see
but i made that book
so i can write
in the same second
in the same place
whatever comes to me

i made a book
and i named it
my smart book of scribbles
i used the colors
white, orange, dark blue and red
i stitched the cover
in light blue thread
i wrote my name on it
with my favorite blue ink
i tied it hard
with an orange piece of silk
the cover shining white
like pure fresh milk

i made a book
and it was my first time ever
to decide to give my life
a separate new look
my smart book of scribbles
stay with me
don't ever get spoiled
or wet or lost...or i'll be
lost with all these thoughts
all these things i see
so i'll keep you in my bag
here safe...close to me
