My Thoughts Get Tangled Inthe Galaxies Above - Poem by iqra hassan

My thoughts get tangled in the galaxies above…

My thoughts get tangled in the galaxies above,
In the light of the remotest stars at the far corner,
Or I keep me engaged in the stories of the Martians,
The ones I have learned without being told,
But I still remember them, all by heart,
Astronomy and astrology bubble in my brain,
I keep looking at my hands, forehead and on the sky,
Destiny, the Milky Way, the celestial bodies,
Andromeda, comet galaxy, all the planets,
I wonder what creatures reside in there…
What they want to convey when they meet,
In the ways that form the mysterious maps,
Or maybe they curse us in their words,
For never ever trying to get to them,
Or maybe they await the escape from their hell,
Which they themselves fuel every day,
But wait, they are not us.
My eyes look beyond the light that is spread,
And see the darkness it beholds within…
