My Valantine Poem by Patrick Fealy

My Valantine

Remembered lost affection
dearest heart bemoaned
chained to ancient Valantines
where first love must atone
Departing such sweet sorrow
bathed in love's bemuse
To the stars I kissed my hand
a prayer just meant for you
Mourning those lost freedoms
where two hearts were unbound
In the garden of our youth
where laughter could be found
Come again sweet madrigal
where passion is so blithe
Sing to her a whistfull song
to strains of that delight
She is not forgoten
where my thoughts remain
waking from my slumber
to hear her soft refrain
Echos of her memory
Bring beauty to my thoughts
Waiting by the cabin door
where love can not be bought
Come to me my valantine
Come my dearest friend
Return to that lost journey
where Love will never end
