My World (Fav) Poem by Khloe Chace

My World (Fav)

My world.
Clouds fillin' in,
The storm's comin' in.
People crying,
Tears causing a flood.
In my world.

In my world,
The rain never goes away.
The kids never go out and play.
The train's broken down,
From moving on...moving away.

This is my world!
It's me against the world.
Huddle on a sidewalk,
Tryin' to cover up the rain.
Cars keep splashing me,
Reminding me of all the pain.

The people here smile,
But hate lives underneath.
All dreams are lost,
I don't know what to believe.
I keep looking for a rainbow,
Keep searching even though I don't know
If the sunshine will ever shine here again.

I haven't seen leaves on the trees,
For as long as this broken thing,
In my chest can remember.
Lakes are frozen over,
Grass never green.
Mailboxes and addresses cease to be,
Because there's no place for me!

This is my world!
It's me against the world.
Huddle on a sidewalk,
Tryin' to cover up the rain.
Cars keep splashing me,
Reminding me of all the pain.

The people here smile,
But hate lives underneath.
All dreams are lost,
I don't know what to believe.
I keep looking for a rainbow,
Keep searching even though I don't know
If the sunshine will ever shine here again.

So do you know what it's like...
Hey, do you know how it feels...
To be alone, in your own world...
Never knowing how it could be..if...

If the sun came out,
And the clouds ran away.
People who'd abandoned me,
Would came back and stay.
The daisys would pop up,
A boy'd pick one for his girl.
Her straight hair would boing into a curl.
Someone would meet me and kiss me in the rain.
If only...this world could change...into

My world.
Instead it's me against the world.
Instead I'm huddled on a sidewalk,
Tryin' to cover up the rain.
Cars keep splashing me,
I'm doubting everything.

The people here smile,
But hate lives underneath.
All dreams are lost,
I don't know what to believe.
And I'll still keep looking for a rainbow,
I'll keep searching even though I don't know...
I don't know...
If the sunshine will ever, shine here again.
