a Poem About Incarceration

I thought of you being there when you were here
and like the feelings of you being here were there then gone like a breeze in the air

my voice searched from beneath my chest and traveled deep within my mind; I could blame it on my aging brain just to be kind;
after so many years gone it aint the same. Like the forgotten memory of a restaurant; "on the tip of my tongue" or " in the back of my mind"
it happened on today that i have forgotten your name

The feelings of hurt i feel inside;
knowing you alive somewhere but physically in my life have died; and only i know to thank the pillows that have held the many tears cried those shoulders once offered turned colder,
"Oh you should move on! "
like they say I should
lord i have truly tried

When freedom greets you again my friend;
I pray im alive to see.
By then grey hairs and age will accompany thee. I hope my dear love you remember me.
