Narcissus Poem by Alexander Downie

Narcissus

Your smile used to reflect in my eyes,
replaced by a frown rippled with lies.
Your breast used to sleep warm in my hand,
deserted for space alone, without any plan.

A broken vampire sucking ego from youth,
fearing her destruction if she admitted the truth.
And who will repair your black angels wings,
when your lies are no more and reality sings?
