Nature's Alphabet Poem by Shane Markie

Nature's Alphabet

As amber lashes flicker through the trees

Bright butterflies now flutter through the breeze.

Cascading softly down from limbs of May

Drifts dimpled leaves of scarlet ochre grey.

Enjoying ev'ry moment of our lives;

For nectar tastes so sweet from our own hives.

Gives gratifying pleasures, gift of love

How happy I'm with you, soaring like a dove.

I gaze as iris, dandelions dance,

Just off the beach amongst the grass they prance.

Kaleidoscopic robes of vibrant hues,

Large lavish tapestry of stunning views--

Marshmallow-puffs that softly do ballet.

Nocturnal fauna sleep diurnal play.

‘O' how vast ocean's flow like rhythmic rhyme,

Percussion softly plays its subtle chime,

Quick quails and sparrows sing their morning tune,

Red robins, wagtail, finch their choir croon.

Sweet scents of jasmine, rosemary and rose,

Those fragrances linger through the breeze that flows.

Utopia which envelopes our souls

Vast undulating waves of sapphire rolls,

While whimsical this Earth has luscious gowns,

Xanthic our sun paints leaves in shade of browns.

Yet yielding luscious fruits this Earth does bear,

Zestful we thank our God in daily prayer.
