I lifted you up.
I cut you down.
I kissed your cheeks so white.
I kissed your lips so blue.
Never knew.
Never saw
Behind those walls.
Never knew.
Never saw
The pain you kept hidden so well.
Never knew
You were broken.
I held your hand so tight.
Laid my head on your chest.
Never heard
The sound of your heart beat.
Eyes once so deep,
So penetrating.
Never thought
I'd see this blank stare.
Never cried
Like this before.
Maybe if you had,
We wouldn't be here now.
Never knew.
Never saw.
Never thought
You'd be dead.
