Never Poem by Draven Cestodio

Never

Struck down by a single blow
He stands above me with a satisfied expression and begins to turns Expecting me to stay down
I rise up from the ground an unyielding will
The shock is present and stains his soul blacker
Another strike to my stomache makes me cave upon myself shaking with pain
Planting my hands on the ground I fight the pain and stand again
Never will I allow myself to be weak or back down
Always I will fight without even raising my hands
Never will they break my will or pride
No matter how hard they may try
Or how hard they strike be it with verbal assaults or physical blows I will not give way
I will always wipe the blood from my lip and chin just to raise my head higher in the air
