I never meant to hurt you
I never meant to bring you to tears
And I’m sorry

Sorry for the things I’ve done
I should’ve let you speak
And not cut you off
I should’ve let your feelings come first
Than my selfishness

The things you do for us
Makes you hurt
I never meant for this to go this far
But what has happened
Can never be changed
The guilt I live with will always carry on

I would’ve held you when you cried
But I was too scared
My feelings coming before you
My heart aches every time you confess
Everything you go through is for us
You say you love us more than yourself
I say nothing and keep my head low in shame

Your breathless word barely coming through
The tears you try to cover now break free
Words can’t form from seeing you hurt
But I still say nothing
Instead I watch you break.
