New Year Calls Poem by Ishwar C Mohanson

New Year Calls

Rating: 5.0

Awake awake awake, o sleeping mortal!
New Year calls, pressing my doorbell.
I didn't witness you in the new year rave
So, I came down to greet you on this gala eve.

Who stays unaffected by worldly affectation.
Who stays untempted to earthly temptation.
Some do drinking, some do dancing
Some do out-dining, Aren't you gonna ring in?

I drink wine of words, dine roots of words.
I love to dance to spell of the words
Will you take me out to a word Land
Where words do exactly as I command.

All worldly pleasures are transient
They satiate senses, but soul remains insatiate.
But it's fabulous to feast on words along my loved one.
With aroma of words incensing mind, heart n tongue.

Thank you 2024 for awaking me up.
I give my words to celebrate you in my verse.
Come again to my unworldly home of words
O dear new year! to immortalise my worthy words.
