Next To You Poem by Danny Taylor

Next To You

My eyes drag open, at midnights dark,
And there I am, next to you,
In your face, I see a spark,
Deep is the love I feel for you,

The moonlight shines, and lights your frame,
I see your hair fall on your face,
Ecstatic that you feel the same,
I feel the warmth in our embrace,

I move slow, so you won’t wake,
And wrap my arm around your side,
The love we share, we couldn’t fake,
Within my heart, you do reside

I rest my head, and fear the sun,
Because its rise takes me away,
I smile knowing we’ve just begun,
Thankful for every single day,

You squeeze my hand, I feel your heart,
It beats its slow and gentle song,
I am not whole when we’re apart,
Was lost before you came along,

My eyes fall shut, we sleep again,
I promise I’ll always be true,
Just know that I am happiest when,
I’m right there, next to you…

Beautiful romantic poem with such sincere sentiments... it is well written as well - I am not a great fan of typical rhyme but you did this without any effort and it works for me.... thanks
