Nichole Is Two Poem by B. V. Dahlen

Nichole Is Two

Not long ago, a baby then,
I’d hold you and surmise,
What you’d be like two years from then.
I wasn’t quite that wise.

For you’ve amazed me every day
As I discovered you.
I’m spellbound at the way you learn,
And all the things you do.

In two short years you’ve conquered much
Exploring your domain.
I ’ve stood in silent wonder
As you’d advance and gain.

“Still, what’s ahead? ” I ask myself.
What will the future hold?
I’ll watch you grow and prosper.
Like a flower you’ll unfold.

And looking back I’ll reminisce
About your baby charms,
And want you tiny just once more
To hold you in my arms.
