Night In December Poem by kedrix Udjoe

Night In December

Rating: 5.0

I was waked by a roosters crow,
Thinking it was a morning crow
I walked out the room
I felt the dews descending on my dark skin
Like the vegitable, receive showers from the gardener
The moon and stars were dazzling
Like that of the sun in daylight
And the trees were dancing; no beats I heard
Every where was cool and quit
Suddenly I felt so cold I needed warmth
I strolled to the public square to see buyers and sellers
Who usually pass here to the market
But I saw nobody
Then I realized that the morning was getting more
Strange and cooler than when I waked
I heard my hearts beat; beat from my stomach
I have to rush back home
As I raced I was chased
A man was chasing after me, I can't tell his colour
The quicker I ran the quicker he chased
As I raced passing the oak; the sun shined no More
As it's branches covered the dazzling sun
My heart pumped more fright instead of blood
My skin covered with sweat
The man chased no more; I noticed
But as I passed the big tree he followed
I was looking at the man
When I had a sharp nod
That was my head against my door
I rushed and barred the door
But the man didn't come kicking
Then I took my lantern up the wall clock
It was mid night
Then I realized the man was my shadow
I went to sleeping bed
To lay my aching head
