No Broken Heart Here Poem by Kevin Patrick II

No Broken Heart Here

When it was over
There was no big bang of soap opera drama
Or a firework display of raw emotion

No,
It just withered like an unwatered plant
shriveling away without any care

The calls became distant
The excuses grew cliched
Your voice became an actor
Bored with the role you played
We then skated over thin ice
Of a relationship which sank

I knew it ended in the silence
Of a tiptoeing tumbleweed

But its OK
I know your just a junkie for instant passion
And that you need another fix
when I don't give you the hit

Don't worry...
(If you really cared)
You never broke my heart
just the bridge for me to love you

And I'll Just swim
find an island to hold up
make my peace where you cant hurt me again

My heart survives
But my trust will not

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
For about 2 months I had a passionate thing with someone, recently I realized I was nothing more then their band aid, now they dont need me. I had to end it by cutting them off. I never really cared about anyone like them.
