No Room Poem by Connie L. Burchett

No Room

There is no room in your heart
For me this I know
For she was first and it leaves
Me in the cold
My head tells me to go and my
Heart tells me to stay
I’m so confused that I don’t know
Which one to choose
Does matter if I go or if I stay
My heart is doomed either way
The pain of loving you tears me into
I wished I had a heart of stone
And not one of flesh
A heart of stone feels nothing not even
The loneliness that hangs around.
I dread the day you tell me
It's time for you to go
All I want is to love you and to be loved by you
Why does love have to be this way?
