Nonet: Desert Dweller
My visitor’s coat is attractive.
Its flashy, reddish-brown, silk down
has wide black stripes its full length.
Smidgeons of soft white streaks
squeeze in alongside
ev’ry black mark
to help warm
chipmunk
friends.
