my teen-age poem 1996
jimenez mis. occ. philippine island
i see the mystery of
palilan river
i can't write
even a single word
to compare
her image sparks
into my sight
appears as
mirror of the night
her crystal bluish face
glidely flows
low and high
to and fro in delta tide
listening innocents
screams
diving, swimming
collecting shells
boating like in heaven
a river for me
my mortal witness
featuring tales and real memories
connnecting childish years
up to my incoming adulthood
responsibilities
