Not For Sale Poem by Ken Barrett

Not For Sale

My life took a turn for the worse,
As I had no coin for my purse.
Hell opened up and put on sale,
A life where I could not fail.
He tempted me with riches untold,
I contemplated what was to be sold.
Would it be worth eternal torment,
Should I give into him and relent.
As I pondered on this for awhile,
It turned my thoughts to bile.
My response to him was final,
Never I cried so leave me be.
Never will you reign over me.
