Not Ready Poem by Winter Moyer

Not Ready

I don't feel like I'm ready
I wish that I could just stop
I wish I could stand still, strong, and steady
If I go to fast I might just flop

Love is a tricky track
Of failure, loss, and regret
If I could only be cut some slack
Something to make me not fret

School is like a ticking bomb
Full of deadlines that get left unmet
Never having the luxury of calm
Tests and trials feeling like a game of roulette

So I say to thee I'm just not ready
I'll never land my feet nice and steady
I think I might not make it
The thought, it seems, I just can't shake it
