Not With This Wind Poem by Rayan Ali

Not With This Wind

Through the window I see
The sun as it comes out
Smiling to this earth
As it relights every corner
The voices of birds
And the wind singing
Is what I hear
Some how this morning did
Break through from the night
And washed away yesterday’s absurdities
So long as the day comes
Some struggle hard for their rights
While some find it too much
Happiness is what is needed all around
With all the curves and turns
That this day brought with it
But soon the rays of the sun
Start to hide behind the curtains
Of the deep soling sky
And washed away yesterday’s absurdities
While every roc starts to roll back
And the birds stop to sing in their melodies
The ships in the sea ship without sail
Everyone turns their way back home
From a tired day, through the work
To rest in the warmth of that only shelter
Not after long, the twinkling stars
Shine on the lonely blank sky
That stands alone, without a pillar
Merging in the way of the last minute
We did what we had to do
And we felt all we could feel
We said what ever we could say
And crossed over every hardship
That wouldn’t have brought us back again
And yet, we had waited for that
Another day to arrive.
