Notes To Myself Poem by Hugh Green

Notes To Myself

A tremendous circle is love
pleasure unrelenting
pain unsubsiding

How now may I differentiate

Am I prisoner of the moment
A tear beneath the laughter of life

Or am I my own ruler-
Subject only to the heart that hides
the god within?
