I have no reason to smile
And each one that come along
Is always tinged with a finality
Only you could end
Not a day passes
When I don’t ache for you
That simple smile
Or just a glimpse
Of your earthy eyes glancing away
Quickly
We were always too uncertain
Afraid of what we’d find
If we did look too long
In a crowded room
I feel desolation
I feel alone
In a room full of happiness
I feel remorseful
Resentful
Pitiful
But when I walked with you
I was untouchable
I was grand
The oceans have no waves
The nights aren’t dotted with stars
Because the rum
Cant burn away the sentiment
That I am nothing
Without you
And worse off
Nothing
To you
