Now Poem by Eric Niehoff

Now

T exists for a miniscule moment
So short that it’s over before it can be discussed
Often it is referred to as the present
But that is flawed with inaccuracies
It’s existence is always fleeting
It’s meaning constantly changing
A concept so often used
Yet so often irrelevant

It can be used to describe an emotion
An event or even a perspective
But too quickly it changes form
Only to become then
It’s used to explain, to persuade
And even create understanding
But even that is constantly
Left to interpretation

It comes in multiple forms
To make it more descriptive
Attempting to make it timeless
Or to broaden its scope

Now is here and there it goes
Now starts over only to evaporate
Now I know there is no end
Now I think you understand
