The devil’s such a lying cheat
I never knew before
Until You made my life complete
By knocking at my door

He’d been a thorn within my side
Till Jesus made me whole
Taking the lust and foolish pride
That plagued my heart and soul

He’s evil Lord without a doubt
Deceit’s his wicked tool
But then You came and flushed it out
And made me no one’s fool

I wish I’d known You sooner Lord
To free my life of sin
The devil then could just have roared
Instead of coming in

He once had felt Your vengeful sword
You sent him on his way
But soon he’ll burn in hell my Lord
Forever and a day

A fortress is Your awesome name
A mighty shield divine
Saving me from a life of shame
You made salvation mine

The world should see as I do now
I pray Your word she’ll hear
How soon her knee to Christ would bow
How soon Your name she’d fear

She’d turn my God the same as I
She’d seek The Truth first hand
She’d see the devil’s evil lie
And then she’d understand
