O Idle Mind, O My Idle Mind Poem by Kavita Kilam

O Idle Mind, O My Idle Mind

O idle mind, O my idle mind,
Are you really a devil's den?
You must be up to something, for sure,
Hiding somewhere where no one can ken.
How can you sit so quietly,
Sleepily, the whole day long?
There must be something brewing inside you—
Some thought, some mischief, or maybe a song!
Are your days like this, aloof and at bay?
Just being curious, if I may say,
Are you asleep, or are you awake?
Give me an answer, for goodness' sake!
Or are you simply taking a break,
While the rest of us work for heaven's sake?
Come on, idle mind, don't give me that look—
Tell me your secret… or I'll take you as a crook! 😄

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was just compose with some random funny thoughts in my mind while I was judging some poetry recitation of small kids. Had really nothing much to do and this itch to write came up.
